My Favorite Smoothie Recipe
Hello, I hope all of you had a wonderful productive weekend! This past weekend I decided to make a no sugar added smoothie. I was truly inspired by all of the green smoothie recipes I saw online, and I decided to come up with my own. We actually had everything on hand in our home. My hubby usually blends up enough smoothies for himself to last for the entire week (his own recipe). I may just try making large batch, I have been drinking at least two bottles a day with my travel size bottle.
Ingredients
- 1 tsp cinnamon (vanilla exract or honey)
- 1 frozen sliced banana
- 1 Tablespoon peanut butter (or oatmeal)
- 1/2 cup of Greek yogurt ( I used the 2% single serve) (vanilla yogurt- ideal)
- 1 cup Milk or Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Breeze-ideal
- 4 cups baby spinach ( more, or less) (You do not taste the spinach !)
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
Yummy!

ReplyDeleteI would use another piece of fruit about a 1/2 cup (of your choice) or nothing.

Is this a meal replacement smoothie? The only smoothie I've gotten have been from Tropical Smoothie and McDonald's. I know, sad...but I have never made my own before. This seems simple to prepare.
ReplyDeleteThis looks delicious! I love smoothies but I've never tried this one before!

ReplyDeleteI use this as a meal replacement, If you like more of a fruity smoothie. I would use:
1 cup of Vanilla Almond milk
1/2 cup of vanilla yogurt
2-4 cups of spinach
1 sliced frozen banana
1/2 cup frozen fruit (i.e. strawberries, peaches, mango)
If you are not counting calories or on a diet, this works great
Frozen fruit
Milk
Ice
Sweeten to taste
