Fried Rice
(All that was left)
Over the weekend, I came across this great fried rice recipe; I knew this would be perfect recipe to pair with my orange chicken recipe. Seeing how I love good rice, and I have not had my favorite orange chicken in almost a month. I was eager to try this recipe. We had most of the items needed to complete this recipe. However, I was still off to the store yesterday with a grocery list. I decided to go to the closest Wal-Mart to me and to my surprise they had all of the items on my grocery list...Once the meal was almost finished my hubby was the first one in the kitchen to tell me how great the food smells. The combination of the orange chicken and the fried rice was extremely delicious. The food was so good that we only had about a cup of rice and a 1/2 of orange chicken.
Fried Rice
Recipe Adapted from: Life-As-A-Lofthouse
1/2 cup bean sprouts
3 cups cooked white rice
3 tbs sesame oil
1 cup frozen peas and carrots (thawed)
1 small onion, chopped
2 tsp minced garlic
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1-2 tbs soy sauce
On medium high heat, heat the oil in a large skillet or wok. Add the peas/carrots mix, onion and garlic. Stir fry until tender. Lower the heat to medium low and push the mixture off to one side, then pour your eggs on the other side of skillet and stir fry until scrambled. Now add bean sprouts rice and soy sauce and blend all together well. Stir fry until thoroughly heated!
