So I purchased two dozen roses at Sam's Club last week for under $13 and of course I have to live these up to the fullest. I purchased rosewater before in the past at my local Whole Foods and I thought to myself... why not make my own since I have so many roses right now? I plan on adding the Rosewater to my bathwater. However, there are so many different uses for Rosewater.

Can you believe it's almost fall? It was super cool this morning in Connecticut. I decided to make myself a smoothie and guess what? I was out of yogurt... Of course I didn't allow that to stop me. I used what I had on hand!

Recipe

Ingredients:

1/2 cup raw quick oats
1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
1/2 cup blueberries ( I used frozen)
1 ripe medium banana ( I sliced the banana)
1/2 tsp vanilla extract ( optional- I forgot to add this)
1/2 cup ice

I added everything in the blender and allowed my blender to use the smoothie setting. I didn't add sugar because I am trying to cut back on sugar. Actually, due to the banana being so ripe. It really sweatened the smoothie for me.

This is not the picture I was hoping to capture for this post. However, I wanted to share something in the meantime. I captured this beauty during my morning walk this morning. Something about the sunrise get that melts my heart ( did I get your attention off of this picture not matching the theme for this week? Ok, I thought so!)

I am so amazed and in love with my garden. As I'm still learning, I really love every aspect of gardening. The other night it rained and the next morning I had the items below.

It's so magical. It's nice to share this experience with my son too. The expressions on his face are priceless. I love checking on my garden with him. It's definitely something every child should experience...

In the mist of trying to continue to eat healthy. I found this recipe on Youtube. I love adding Quinoa to my vegan burgers especially because it adds so many great nutrients. I opted to add blue berries. However, you can pretty much add any toppings that you would add to an oatmeal.

What I did:

I used a 1/2 cup of clean Quinoa
1 cup of Almond milk
In a sauce pan I added the Quinoa and milk
I allowed the mixture to come to a boil and once it did I lowered the pot to simmer
I allowed the mixture to simmer for 10-15 minutes
I allowed the pot to cool a little
Now you can pretty much add what you like
I mixed in two heping teaspoons of brown sugar
a splash of vanilla extract
(mixed well)
I topped with frozen blue berries that I allowed to thaw
Dusted with cinnamon
Drizzled honey

Ta-Da!

One thing I love most about summer is trying new recipes. I tried Mexican corn on the Cobb yesterday for the first time for dinner and paired it with chipotle taco shrimp #Winning.

I did a combination of two recipes

Boiled the corn and allowed the corn to cool

Used 1/2 cup of mayo and added a splash of lime juice

Applied the mayo mixture to the corn with the back of a spoon

Melted butter 1/2 cup

Drizzled the corn with melted butter
