Happy Thanksgiving! The last couple of years I’ve shared what I’m thankful and you guys have been really receptive to it.

I’m thankful for my readers, you really have no idea how much of an inspiration and motivation you guys have been over the last year. I started this blog over nine years ago after graduate, and a wanted a creative outlet to share with like-minded people. I had no idea I would gain a family. I’m truly thankful for you checking out my blog daily. From you visiting clicking on posts, leaving comments, and simply just being you.

I’m Thankful for life lessons professional and personally. I’ve learned so much this year through the choices in which I’ve made. Honestly, I’m truly thankful for the lessons I’ve learned from them. At the moment it never feels that way. Non-the-less, I’m thankful.
I’m Thankful for my son. It has truly been a roller coaster ride this year for us. He has been my biggest motivator and has been by my side every step of the way.

I’m Thankful for friends and family. I know I might not say it enough. I’m truly thankful for them and honestly could not have asked for a better support system.

What are you thankful for? 

• I've mentioned. I wanted to be more eco friendly. My goal over the last couple of years has to be to give menstrual cups a try. This has taken me years to do. I’m not sure when menstrual cups started to become more popular. However, I just wasn’t ready to give them a try. I had a friend rave about them a couple of years ago. I would walk down the hygiene aisle and honestly for the price. I couldn’t see myself investing in a product that I wasn’t sure if I would use and like. I believe it was close to $30 for one cup. It wasn’t until I read a blog post a couple of years ago, and I learned that Amazon had them for the fraction of the price. I didn’t immediately buy the cup. It probably took me over a year. However, I’m happy that I did, I was able to buy my menstrual cup for under $7 and it actually came with two cups. I’m still new to the menstrual cup lifestyle. However, it has been a game-changer for my cycle.
• Now that I think about it. I think it all having during a shopping trip this year...During this whole epidemic, I went shopping online for tampons and I believe my favorite brand was out of stock of the size I wanted. I wasn’t sure If we would go on lockdown again, and honestly, I didn’t want to go without.
• This was one of my best decisions, once I got the hang of inserting these cups with the help of YouTube due to having an introverted uterus. The process has been so easy for me. At some point, I will like to try another cup for comparison purposes. For now, this works for me!
• If you are thinking of matching the switch. Do your research and read reviews and watch YouTube videos. Know, though I love this cup, I’ve never tried another so I honestly can not give my opinion on them.

• Always sanitize prior to using

• Properly clean & store ( I like to use Bronner Brothers to clean it)

• Research - Like, Price, Storage bag, and Size

• Smaller cups are made for the introverted uterus.

• If you have an introverted uterus, your insertion may be different.

Attire Breakdown

Roasted Brussel Sprouts Recipe

• 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
• 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt
• 1/4 teaspoon (each): garlic powder, freshly cracked pepper
• 1/3 cup 4C Panko Breadcrumbs
• 1/3 cup + 2 tablespoons 4C Homestyle Parmesan Cheese

1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
2. Trim and slice the Brussel sprouts in half.
3. Place in a large bowl and drizzle melted butter and olive oil.
4. Add in garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Toss gently until evenly distributed and sprouts are well coated.
5. Add in the Panko and 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese. Again, toss gently to ensure the panko and parmesan coats all the sprouts.
6. Transfer to a large baking sheet and spread the Brussel sprouts so they aren't overlapping.
7. Bake for 18-23 minutes or until sprouts are tender, lightly browned, and the Parmesan cheese is melted.
8. Remove from the oven and sprinkle the remaining 2 tablespoons of Parmesan cheese on the hot Brussel sprouts.

The apps I'm sharing below are super easy to use, and typically do not require too much time to implement into your day and shopping experience.

5 Apps That Will Save You Money This Holiday Season

Fetch Rewards

This app allows you to scan grocery receipts. They even offer bonuses for certain items purchased. I typically submit my receipts daily or wait until the end of the week to submit them all.

Ibotta

I love the Ibotta app. They have so many stores in this app. I love that you can connect your loyalty card and you can also use it for mobile purchases. How cool is that? I use this app throughout the year, especially during the holidays. You can even use it for your mobile purchases with Groupon. I love checking to see what are the latest offers prior to shopping online or going to the store. You can really save a ton with the Ibotta app.

Receipt Pal

Receipt Pal is one of my favorite apps to use. You receive cash or gift cards for submitting your receipts. With all that online and in-store shopping that you’re going to have. Why not get money for submitting your receipts? When I’m doing shopping one of the first things that I do is scan my receipts to Receipt Pal. I love that you are given a certain amount of slots a week to submit your receipts and you can also submit receipts for online purchases. What I also love about this recipe is that you have the entire month to submit your receipt. Which is perfect in the event that you immediately don’t submit it.

Rakuten

I use Rakuten anytime when I shop online. I just received my latest check in the mail the other and it was a great reminder of why I love using this app. I also love this app that if you’re shopping and have your cart filled and remember mid-shopping that you forgot to use the app. You can still click on the app and your items will still be in the shopping cart. This happens to me all the time. Rakuten sends checks quarterly or you can opt to receive a gift card from your favorite store.

Groupon

I love using Groupon. It’s perfect for options especially at the last minute for those picky shoppers. I also love it because if you forget to purchase something for someone on your list. You can easily purchase an item or a restaurant voucher. I always try to give people the gifts that I want and I love using Groupon. It’s the perfect way to learn about new restaurants as well. I’ve found some of my favorite Sushi restaurants that I use without a Groupon on Groupon.

Target Cartwheel

As many of you know that I’m a Target addict. I love Target and I was super excited about the Cartwheel app when it was first launched. I remember going to the store and some of the cashiers didn’t even know about the app. Yes, I’ve been using this app for years. I love that I can walk into the store and scan an item or search for an item using keywords to see if the item is on sale. What I love about this app is that it tells you the dates until the offer expires. You can also plan your trip prior to going to the store which I love in case you want to plan ahead.

Prior to becoming a blogger. The thought of putting my Christmas tree up before thanksgiving honestly never crossed my mind. Of course, I would see the Christmas decor in the store. However, it was a tradition in my home to put up our tree the day after Thanksgiving, and I followed that tradition when I became a mom. 

 

Must-Know Tips for Shopping on Black Friday

Price Matching Policy
A lot of stores do not price match on Black Friday. No there policy beforehand to save you time and money.

Stores
There are a ton of stores that have Black Friday sales, which stores do you plan on visiting online, and in-person? I’ve found it so helpful to create a list of the stores which I plan on visiting in person, and virtually, and what item I want from each store.

Back-Up Plan
The possibilities are endless but have a backup plan. If you're at a store and the item you're looking for is out of stock. What is your plan "B"? Know beforehand what stores are going to have what.

Know When the sales start
It’s important to know when the sale actually starts. I think so many people have the misconception that most sales start on Thanksgiving, and Black Friday. However, I’ve learned that all stores are different some stores have sales that start on Wednesday online, and I’ve even gone to stores at the outlet that opened at around 12 am, and whose doors didn’t open until 6 am on Black Friday. Search the website for the stores in which you plan on visiting to make sure that you have the correct information on hand

Shopping List
Know who you’re shopping for and what stores you would like to shop for that person. It’s so easy to see all of the sales and add everything into your cart. Creating a shopping list makes it so much easier to have a strategic plan.

Emails
Signup for their emails beforehand for your favorite stores. You'll be the first to know about sales and Earlybird opportunities.

Budget
I’m all for budgets, it’s so easy to overspend on Black Friday on items that you don’t even need or want. Create a budget for each person on your shopping list. If you’re purchasing items for yourself or Home. Create a budget for the store in which you plan on shopping.

Shop with a Friend
If you have a friend/family member that wants to go with you. Let them, the more the merrier. Help each other out. Split up and go to different stores. Have a plan!

As the saying goes, “if you fail to plan, you plan to fail. “ Of course nothing is glowing to be perfect. Stores will sell out of items, some stores might not even have the item in stock in which you’re looking for. I highly suggest purchasing the items that are on sale for the same price online. That you purchase the item online to avoid having to search around the stores looking for it.

Bridgford Foods Frozen Dinner Rolls
