Whether you're going to the Atlantis Resort from your Cruise ship or actually planning a vacation at the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas. I wanted to share my review of the resort for my readers.

Background story: If you've been following me for a while now. You're aware that me and my Mini King went to the Bahamas during Spring Break this year. You see, last year I purchased a passport for him, and honestly. I was trying to figure out when it would be the best time to use it... Why not Spring Break? Right? My brother-in-law went on several occasions to the Bahamas and my sister went for the first time last year too. Of course I pretty much asked him a million questions. They stayed at one of the other hotels on the Island. However, mentioned that Atlantis would be the perfect fit for us. I honestly had no idea how much of a Big Deal Atlantis Resort was. During Spring break it was packed with families and couples etc. I did find out after booking my hotel room that there is a hotel across the street or that is within walking distance that is a lot cheaper and I believe many people refer to it as the Pink hotel. By staying at this hotel they do offer continental
breakfast and free passes to the Atlantis Resort. (just something to consider) In the event that I would have learned about this hotel first. I would have stayed here prior to staying at the Atlantis Resort. I will say, after staying at the Atlantis Resort and seeing the breath taking views. I would stay at the resort again. I only had a little over a week to plan this vacation and I must say that I think that I did pretty good great. I read tons of reviews, and conducted as much research as I could with such a limited time frame. Below I have complied a list of helpful tips when staying at the Atlantis Resort. (If I can think of anything else. I will just update the post)



Tips

• Bring your own snorkel gear (it's more cost effective)
• Try to remember your sun screen and all toiletries
• Atlantis Resort gives you free water tickets. I believe their brand of water (two per day, or two per person per day.) I purchased water at the airport for myself though.
• Fish Fry (Everyone waves about Fish Fry. However, my little guy didn't want to leave the resort. Usually cabs are available at all times to transport you to and from Fish Fry.)
• Plan for travel time to the airport returning home. Remember to consider rush hour when planning when you should leave the resort in route to the Airport.
• I used Trip Advisor and Expedia for Reviews
• Bring your own snacks and breakfast bars
• Travel Cooler

Transportation I did not arrange transportation prior arriving. However, my brother-in-law suggested that we would be just fine (plus, reviews mentioned that as well). We were fine. During the transport to the Resort. I was transported by a female who was super sweet. I just went outside and told them that I needed transportation to the Atlantis Resort. I believe someone was outside directing people in the appropriate direction. When I was transported from the hotel to the airport. That morning I went to the Porter (not sure of the appropriate terminology) I explained to him that I would need transportation to the airport at X time. When I went down stairs, he called for the driver and we were off to the airport. Our driver was super sweet as well.
Where we dined

• Breakfast: We usually woke up late and I had cereal/granola bars on hand
• Lunch: We ate at the Marina Village (It's attached pretty much to the Atlantis Resort. Just ask a staff to direct you to the right direction.)
• Dinner: Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville
• (It's across the street from the Marina Village-Just ask) I would compare this restaurant to TGI Fridays in comparison to food options and price-I didn't have any issues with their food at all)

Food in route to the Resort:

A lot of people mentioned how pricey the restaurants are at the Resort. I was reading a review and someone mentioned that they requested their cab driver to stop at any fast food restaurant in route prior to going to the resort. I asked my driver to do the same and she was super sweet about stopping. We ate once we were checked into our room. No microwaves were included in the room we booked which I knew prior to booking. On our way home (We ate at the airport)

There's nothing like traveling to a different state or even country. I love soaking in all of the history plus the amazing views. Today, I will be sharing some of my best travel tips.

1. Bring snacks. Always, even if you feel that you may not need them. I typically will pack honey granola bars. Especially when traveling with children. It just makes life so much easier. During our last trip to the Bahamas, I packed all types of snacks. It was our first time traveling alone so to speak and I wasn't sure when we would be able to get to food. This was also great when we woke up in the morning. We didn't have to rush to breakfast. 

2. I always, always encourage people to carry travel size hand sanitizers with them. Yes, soap and water is the best. However, can you imagine how many germs are around? Yup, keep the travel size container in your bag and leave it there until you need it. 

3. Making sure your electronics are fully charged. I always keep my chargers in my purse. Whether I'm on the plane or a car. My charger in arms reach. It's a great idea to invest in a portable charger just in case. 

4. When traveling I always make a couple of color copies of my passport. I leave a copy at home with my emergency contact and I keep a copy with me at all times. Also, scan a copy to yourself by email and text so you always have a copy with you on hand. (plenty of apps allow you to scan items for free with your smartphone) 

5. Keep an empty water bottle with you. Once you pass through security for your flight. You can fill your bottle (s) with water. This is especially a great idea when you have children with you. I typically do not drink too much juice these days. However, it's nice to have the flavor packs on hand for the kiddos.  

6. I typically organize everything in clear zip lock bags. I like to keep my hygiene products in one, accessories, makeup, undergarments etc. I also like to put my outfits together in the Ziploc bags as well. This is such a great idea too for the kiddos. Having all of the outfits organized by the days of the week. I love that you can add the dates or color code it so the kids know which outfit they are wearing each day. It just makes life so much easier. 

7. It's a great idea to recycle store bags and I typically will keep a few Target bags in my suitcases for soiled items and swimwear.  

8. Keep a blanket scarf with you. Sometimes a plane ride can be pretty chilly. Typically, when I travel it's freezing outside so instead of having to take off a bunch of layers. I travel with a blanket scarf that can fit in your purse you can have it on hand when needed. Plus the blanket scarf doubles as a blanket. (this is the one I have)


9. Be kind. Always. Remember you're not the only person looking forward to their travel destination. Everyone has a job, and they are just doing their job... Kindness goes a long way. Also, travel with reading material. I usually have a few books with me. (one of my favorite books) 

10. Try to avoid using the airport wifi for any serious business. We all know that wifi is a hackers glory spot. If you're just surfing the web to past time until it's time to get on your flight. That's one thing, however, do not put any personal information out there. 

Extra Tips 

• Create a list of “To-Do” prior to leaving 
• Keep a mini first aid kit with your essentials 
• Pre-plan your travel attire
• Save your hotel room number to your phone (and tower if applicable) 
• Always share your travel plans with friends and family (where you're going, hotel, flight info etc.)

Whether you're taking a Mommy or family Spring Break trip in or out of the country. Don't forget these must-haves.

DSLR Camera

Several years ago I purchased my I first DSLR camera. This camera has become my everyday and travel camera. Last year while on spring break. I took my camera with me to the Bahamas. My iPhone could not capture the beauty of a lot of the same pictures I took.
I took my Spring Break trip to Mexico this year. My baby was with me too and I was able to capture beautiful pictures. I love that I'm able to capture beautiful pictures and video without all of the hassle of a cell phone.

Extra Chargers

One of my favorite hobbies is traveling, I love visiting other states and countries, and emerssing myself in the culture. Through my travels I've learned so much through trail and error.  Below, I'm sharing my must-know travel tips.

Have you ever been to Niagara Falls before? 

I consider myself a seasoned traveler and I’m often asked what are my travel essentials. I think for some strange reason when you bring up the topic travel. Some may feel that you need every item in your local travel section in order to have a wonderful trip and that couldn’t be further from the truth. I always tell people to work with what you have and add on to the items as you go. You can even create an Amazon wishlist and send the list out to those that are always wondering what to give you as a gift. All of the items listed I own. Some of these may vary by the brand because I may have picked them up during my travels. However, these are items that I would buy all over again.

10 Travel Essentials

Waterproof lanyard (To house hotel room key money, and/ or phone)
If you read my post on my trip to the Atlantis Bahamas. These waterproof lanyards are a travel must-have. Especially if you plan to spend your trip in and/or by the water. I still haven’t upgraded my phone so it’s not waterproof. However, these come in handy as well if you want to carry your money and your room key.

Wipes (Surface/ hand) 
I highly suggest carrying wipes with you. I typically carry hand and surface wipes to wipe down the area in which I’m using. Trust me, it's a great way to ensure that you stay healthy while traveling.

Kick-Ass Immune
I purchased Kick-Ass Immune last year and If you follow me on Snapchat. I always mention this product. Unfortunately, for me, in the past, I would get a cold at the start of fall and sometime during the winter months. This year has been the first year in a very long time that I didn’t have a cold. This is a product that I will keep on hand because it works.

Tripod 
I purchased the Sirui 3T-35K Tripod with 3T-35 Ball Head & Case (Black) a couple of months ago for my Canon 80D for my travels. A lot of YouTubers use it for vlogging. I love how sturdy this tripod is. It’s perfect for heavier cameras/lens and would work wonders with phones as well.

Portable Charger 
You honestly have no idea what you’re missing out on until you purchased the Mophie XXL portable charger. I’m not sure why I didn’t purchase one sooner. It’s such a lifesaver. I have the largest one. However, this one would be just fine. With everyone having an electronic device it really does come in handy. I even brought this with me during my travels to London. I spent most of my days out and about and I never needed to stop and charge this portable charger. I would charge it at night and honestly. Just because it was part of my travel routine. I’m not sure how long it could go without charging it at all. However, I will say that I didn’t use a full bar during the day and my phone battery is horrible.

Travel Utensils
This may sound weird but I like to travel with my own utensils. They usually don’t take up too much space and it gives me the piece of mind that I need. This is perfect if you’re staying at an AirBandB or a hotel that doesn’t include a kitchen area.

Activated Charcoal 
I think I purchased this as a teeth whitener. I will say this is the best under $10 purchase that I spent in a long time. Activated Charcoal has so many amazing uses and is perfect for traveling. You can read all about the uses here. I typically don’t leave home without it when traveling.

Headphones 
I love the little earbuds. They come in handy. You can use the ones that come with your phone or some for the purpose of travel. It’s convenient for flights or when you need to talk over the phone and want to be hands-free.

Travel Wallet Belt
I found this travel belt wallet at my local Marshalls. As you guys are aware it’s pretty hit or miss with them. I love how lightweight this is and it’s like you don’t even have it on. It’s great to use during your travels or if you don’t feel like leaving your personals at your hotel.
