Tips for Winter Workout Success

Living in Connecticut and working out during the winter months can be brutal. Whether you decide to work out in or outside of your home. During the winter months, the motivation to workout at times is just non-existent. There’s something about being warm and cozy near a fireplace that just seems so much more appealing. Though, with the new year being in full swing, we can all use a few tips to make our winter workouts a success. Below, I’m sharing my must-know tips for Winter Workout Success.

Tips for Winter Workout Success 

Accountability Partner
Working out is so much easier when you have an accountability partner. This person can be virtual! It’s all about having someone that’s going to be a part of your team and making sure that you’re staying on track with your workout goals.

Goals
It’s so important to create workout goals. Are you working out to lose weight or feel healthier? Do you have a weight goal? Do you have a goal for the number of steps you want to complete in a day? Do you have a goal to eat healthy during the week? What are some of your workout goals? List them in your journal or phone and use them as a daily reminder.

Schedule
Create a workout schedule and stick to it. It’s such a great way of just having a routine to look forward to daily. Let’s face it, we all need structure in our life, and having a schedule does that. When you don't have a workout schedule. It’s a lot easier to miss a workout because you keep pushing the time back. Figure out what time works best for you and your schedule, and stick with it.

Reward
I’m huge on having a reward system with workouts. Whether you decide to reward yourself for being consistent with workouts or reaching your weight goal. Create a list of rewards that you can give yourself for reaching your accomplishments.

  4. I've never heard of breathe right but it sounds like a great product. One of my must haves for running in this weather is my mask. Yes, they're hot in the summer, but they're beautifully warm in the winter.

  5. I've got a schedule. I wake up SUPER early in the AM and tackle my work out then - so anything that happens during the day, cannot get in the way of me sweating it out!
