Black Friday Yay or Nay?

Yes! It’s that time of year again. I remember when Black Friday started early in the morning the day after Thanksgiving. I remember my first time going Black Friday shopping with my Aunt. I remember being on the phone with a friend and telling them how excited I was to go Black Friday shopping. I think that’s the moment that I realized I was an influencer. (lol, J/k) At that very moment, I made the hype about going. That person was excited to go as well... We went to the notorious Walmart and the lines were crazy. I mean the lines were wrapped around the building. I was excited and nervous at the same time. The store wasn’t open and living in Connecticut it was cold outside. More like freezing to me. I believe it was 4 or 5 o’clock in the morning and I had no strategy in mind. Just the experience. I remember when the store opened. Of course, everyone rushed to get in. I was just in all. I probably purchased a few items. (I honestly can’t remember what I purchased)
When I host Thanksgiving at my home. After dinner, it’s open season on the store ads, LOL. Lots of markings all over the store fliers. It’s nice to sit around with family and look for deals. A lot has changed with stores opening Thanksgiving Day. I typically visit Target and the Outlets on the notorious Black Friday.
This year I'm not sure what we're going to do. As many of you probably know, I'm trying to incorporate minimalism in my life slowly but surely. However, I do love a good sale (insert wink)

Black Friday Yay or Nay (If Yes, What are you looking out for this year)

  1. It's a no for me! I went Black Friday shopping once with my daughter and her friends. I was looking for a laptop for my teen. When I found out that the store only had 5 that were on the black Friday sale and I was probably #200 in line, I decided then and there that I would never do Black Friday again. LOL The only thing good I remember from that experience was the breakfast. I do most of my shopping online. My daughter still loves her Black Friday shopping.

  2. I go back-and-forth each year! Some years I want to go out in attempted other years I don't want to thing to do with it. This year I have not decided yet. If I feel adventuresome I might just go.

  3. Black Friday is a big, fat no for me. No deal is worth battling a throng of crazy people trying to save a little money.

  4. I shopped Black Friday early morning deals for years. Now that we have scaled back on gift giving, I feel I do really well by staying home and shopping online.

  5. Black Friday is a nay for me. I do take advantage some of the online deals here and there but I never have items worth getting up at 4am for.

  6. As much as I say I hate Black Friday shopping, I love a good deal so much more. So who really knows how I feel about it haha.

  7. It is a no for me simply because I don't see the need to get so hyped about shopping. Seeing people fighting over things on the news were enough to turn me off of them. Cyber Monday it is for me especially since I'm not in the US :D

  9. I used to always say YAY! to Black Friday. I just can't get enough of the crowds. Now, though, I have to say nay. When it switched to starting on Thanksgiving day I could make missing Thanksgiving worth it.

  10. The Black Friday is actually something new here in Spain and the discount is not huge, so there won't be masses going crazy over the sales. I haven't done any Black Friday shopping before, so I'll check out some small things tomorrow.

  11. Nay for shopping for me. Probably because I work in retail and am scheduled to work on Black Friday!! I won't shop on Thanksgiving either, because I work retail.
