Weekend Getaway Recap | Pike & Rose Neighborhood Maryland

by - 5/15/2019 12:00:00 AM

Last weekend, the Mister and took a road trip to the Pike & Rose neighborhood in Maryland to celebrate our anniversary. It was so nice to get away and at the same time be within driving distance from our home.

Here's a little rundown of what we did on our trip:

Saturday
We packed up our car and drove down to Maryland from Connecticut. Upon arrival, we grabbed a bite to eat and shortly thereafter we checked into our hotel the Canopy by Hilton Washington DC North Bethesda, Maryland. We wandered around the hotel a bit and hung out at one of the many seating areas at the hotel with amazing views of the Pike & Rose neighborhood. We explored the area and concluded our evening at The Beach at Pike & Rose. The Beach at Pike & Rose was such a relaxing experience. It was so nice to just take everything in and be in the moment.

Sunday
It rained all Sunday, we knew in advance that it was going to rain. However, we were hoping for some sunshine which we eventually did towards the end of the day. We slept in a little. We headed to breakfast at our hotel, relaxed for a bit, and then grabbed a bite to eat for lunch, and went for a coffee date. Thereafter, we headed to the movies to watch the Endgame. This was my first time at IPIC Theaters, it really took our movie experience to the next level. When I think of IPIC Theaters, the only way I can describe it as a luxury experience. I honestly can’t think of any way to spend a rainy day. I really could have spent all day in this theater. The seating was super comfortable and we had everything needed for an epic movie experience at our fingertips. Prior to heading back to our hotel, we grabbed a bit to eat and concluding our evening watching the playoffs.

Monday morning, we had breakfast and checked out of the hotel and headed back home to Connecticut.

Food
The Pike & Rose neighborhood had a vast variety of restaurants. Our hotel offered the option for breakfast in the mornings which was super convenient. We opted to go to some of the local eateries for lunch and dinner. Which were all with walking distance from our hotel.

What to Do
Whether you’re looking for the ultimate spa day or just some relaxing time. Our first day there we walked around the Pike & Rose neighborhood to explore. On Sunday, it rained and we opted to go and see the EndGame and have a coffee date.

We really enjoyed our time in the Pike & Rose neighborhood and can see why people go back again and again!

Have you visited the Pike & Rose neighborhood before?
