September/October Vegetable Garden Update: Abundance
The Mister was also very impressed with my garden this year as well. The only tomato plants I've had success with in the past were cherry tomatoes. Which were perfect for my garlic, tomato, and avocado open sandwiches. No complaints here! However, I just wanted a little more, I wanted to make fresh sauces, salsa, and soups with tomatoes fresh from my garden. I'm so happy that I didn't give up. Gardening is trial and error, and I just love every minute of it.
I'm excited to possibly start planting some tulips for next spring. I planted them when I originally moved into my home. However, I haven't catered to the idea since. I also would like to start working on planting garlic for next year as well. I would love some type of fruit plants. However, I was told by some gardeners that you typically do not eat/pick the first year of harvest. So we shall see.
Anywho, Do you have a garden? Do you plan on starting a garden?

You are right growing vegetables is trial and error. We had w wonderful garden this year full of tomatoes and all kinds of yummy food. Feels good to provide food for the family.
ReplyDeleteI would love having a Garden. As the Vegetables taste so much better when we can go into our years and pick them to eat right off the Vines.
ReplyDeleteYour tomatoes look delicious! I just love tomatoes! I wish I could grow stuff but I have a black thumb and gave up.
ReplyDeleteWe didn't plant a garden this year *sigh* and I miss the overflow of veggies. Your tomato plants yielded a lot of tomatoes. Salsa? Marinara sauce? Can't wait to see what recipes you come up with.
ReplyDeleteWhat a bounty of tomatoes and peppers I am so jealous of your abilities to garden with the best. I am going to show this to my husband for our backyard.
ReplyDeleteI am very jealous right now. I cannot grow anything in my apartment, and I have tried! I cannot even buy tomatoes as gorgeous as the ones in your pictures at an affordable price here in NYC, and we eat them as often as possible! Congrats on a great harvest!
ReplyDeleteI have really enjoyed your gardening posts this year. I love to garden so I am always curious to see how others gardens are growing. We had one this year and plan to expand next year.
ReplyDeleteOh wow those tomatoes are gorgeous! The peppers are looking great too. Great job on the garden!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great harvest! Our cabbages, tomatoes, green beans, green peppers and strawberries did very well this summer.
ReplyDeleteOh it looks like you have a wonderful harvest. I am hoping to get back into gardening next year. We just didn't have the extra money this year to put into it. Next year we should.
ReplyDeleteI have never had a garden but I appreciate anyone with a green thumb. If I did have a garden I’d probably want to grow beautiful tomatos like yours.
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous. I've tried too many times to have a successful garden and I fail every time. I'm hoping when we move next month, we can try again.
ReplyDeleteOh how jealous! We only got kale, cucumbers, carrots and some wax beans in ours this year. Hopefully next year we do much better and put some more effort into it. - Jeanine
ReplyDeleteThe yield from your garden is so bountiful. The tomatoes look so luscious.Of course there will be lots of hard work behind this.
ReplyDeleteOh my word, you had a fruitful harvest. That is amazing. They all look so big too!
ReplyDeleteThat's great that you have so much! My garden was pretty much over last month. It has been getting very cold here where I live.
ReplyDeleteOh, my goodness! I am jealous. I was not very successful with my tomatoes this year. I do have plenty of okra and green beans. Thanks for sharing!
