Happy Tuesday!
If you read my Mommy Style Monday post. I mentioned about being invited to an event on Sunday. It was a private event for Wally's Opening Day. It was so cool that this event was put together. Guest had the opportunity to meet Wally & Friends, participate in a virtual reality area. We also watched a scanning of an animated special about Wally and his Friends. Concluded with watching the Red Sox vs Rays Game on the big screen. Below are a couple of pictures from the event.

I’m not sure if I’m the only one who feels this way. However, it seems as if it’s super easy to catch colds while traveling or upon returning from your travel adventures. If you’re anything like me. You try your best to avoid this. Who wants to be sick while on vacation and who wants to be sick returning from a vacation. I’m sure that pretty much everyone will agree with me on this one. Below I’m sharing 4 Tips on How to Stay Healthy While Traveling. Whether you’re headed for the ultimate spring break vacation or just spending a couple of days away. These tips have you covered.
Wash Your Hands
I’m not sure why we sometimes forget how important and effective just washing your hands with soap and water is. I know it sounds simple, however, it works. I was always taught to sing the happy birthday song while washing my hands to ensure that I’m actually walking them long enough. It’s a great indicator for children and adults.Surface Wipes
Wipe down your surface. I like to travel with surface wipes. When they’re provided at the grocery store during your travels use them on your shopping carts. Don’t forget to wipe down your phone and other items that you use on a regular basis during your travels. Surface wipes are not the same as hand wipes and they should only be used on the surfaces recommended. Purchase surface wipes to sanitize the hard surfaces around you.Take Supplements
I’m big on taking supplements and using immune boosters. I’ve been using a few this year and I must say that I’ve seen a huge difference. Travel with an immune booster, make sure to take your regular supplements as scheduled. This plays a major role with you continuing to stay healthy during and after your travels.Hand Wipes
I know when always do not have access to soap and water. I try my best to always carry Kleenex wipes along with me. It’s so easy to touch a doorknob or an elevator button and then use that same hand to grab and eat fries with. I see it all the time, and this may not typically affect you during normal circumstances. However, it very well can during your travels. Always carry Kleenex wipes with you. I love that they are not made with any harsh chemicals and they are different from other hand wipes on the market. The Kleenex Wet Wipe Gentle Clean and Germ Removal available at Walgreens!

I hope you’re having a wonderful day. I’m often asked if I had any tips for those who want to travel. However, feel that they are too broke to travel. One, I honestly feel that being broke is a mindset and it’s not something that is forever if you take the necessary steps and actions to your future. Below a sharing 4 Tips on How To Travel When You’re Broke. I honestly believe that once you really sit down and look at where your money is going with a budget. You can find a way to start saving for a vacation. You have to want this though. More than the excuse to not be able to afford to travel because you're broke.
Give Something Up
This is honestly something that you have to decide on for yourself. One of the things that I gave up was the cable. I made the big leap a couple of years ago and I haven’t looked back since. Another thing that I did this year is decreased how often I went to Starbucks. One of the first things you should do is track your monthly expenses and feature out where your money is going. For example, every time you get paid, do you treat yourself to a luxury lunch or dinner? Do you eat out every day at lunchtime at work? Could you be bringing your own lunch to save money? One thing I also did was made the transition to eating more of a vegan diet. I always made the excuse that it would be so expensive to become a vegan. However, when I took the $20 challenge. I learned that it was so much more expensive to be a pescetarian. Now, what are you going to give up? When making this choice, don’t give up something that is actually bringing your pleasure and joy. If Starbucks is your thing. By all means, keep it in your life. Only take away something that you’re not using and is a waste.Buy Quality
I think one of the biggest misconceptions is that purchasing something for a low price is actually going to save you money. When you’re purchasing something. Always buy quality. I always say how much iMac is one of the best investments I could have made. I kept on purchasing computers that I thought were a good investment and some of them for the price. It was a huge waste of money and I just kept on buying them. Because I actually needed a computer at the time for graduate school. I would have saved a ton of money and time if I just had invested in my iMac or MacBook Pro first.Do Odd Jobs
If you're really serious about traveling. Take the necessary steps to make it a reality. When are in the day in time when you can pretty much make money from doing anything. From Uber to Walking a dog. Write down what you’re good at and try to find jobs based off of that. People who own businesses are always looking for VA’s (Virtual Assistants). People who sell on eBay are always looking for people to model the clothing and/or take pictures of their clothing to list. Let’s not forget selling items you don’t want on sites like eBay, Postmark, and Mercai.Plan for the Trip
I think one of the misconceptions is that traveling is too expensive. How do you know how much a trip is going to cost if you don’t break down the numbers? Yes, I get it. You’re broke. However, If you use my tips above you can afford to travel. You may not be able to travel luxury. However, you can still make things happen based on your income. Just because you're intimidated by the price because someone mentioned that it cost their family 5K their last trip. Doesn’t mean that it’s going to be the same case for you. Did they travel during peak times? Write down your flight, hotel, travel spending money to figure how must this trip is going to cost you. Then actually do your research.Do you have any traveling tips?

While visiting New York. I had the most amazing experience of staying at the James Hotel in Tribeca. I have to admit that I wasn’t familiar with the James Hotel and how they have various locations across the United States.
Staff
Everyone that I encountered at this hotel was super sweet. From the front desk representative to the valet. Everyone was super sweet and accommodating.
Location
I love how this hotel centrally located and is pretty much within walking distance to some pretty amazing sites to what New York has to offer. From spinning classes to delicious restaurants. It’s also just a Taxi or train ride away to Time Square.
Room
The rooms at the hotel were gorgeous. Tall ceilings, comfortable. Rainfall showerhead. I loved every inch of this room. It was so chic with a boutique vibe. For this room to be in New York it had plenty of space. I love that this room also included a seating area and a super sexy glass shower which overlooked the bedroom which I loved.
Amenities
Valet: The James hotel offered onsite valet parking which was one of the reasons why I wanted to stay at this hotel. I was able to park my vehicle at the same place in which I was staying and didn’t have to worry about going to multiple locations at the end of my trip.
Pool: This hotel has a pool, however, is only opened seasonally.
Breakfast + Wine and Cheese Happy Hour. I love that the James Hotel provides a light breakfast in the morning. Coffee/teas and danishes and a cheese and wine happy hour for guest in the evening. I wasn’t able to attend the evening happy hour. However, the morning breakfast spread looked delicious.
Gym: This hotel also offered an onsite gym to the guest. The gym area looked super clean and was equipped with great workout machines.
Overall
If I could stay at the James Hotel every time I visited New York. I would! The views from my room were stunning. The decor of this hotel was simply fabulous. The James Hotel Room Tour
Happy Monday!
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Last week I finally had the opportunity to try a new recipe. I ended up making a chicken and mushroom dish that my family loved. I can't wait to share the recipe with you guys.
This past weekend we didn't do much. I did create an Easter basket for the kids and my mother. I didn't host Easter Dinner this year. Looking forward to our next family dinner though.
Anywho, how was your weekend? What's on the menu for today?
