Simply Tasheena: Travel Review

I recently returned back to Cartagena Colombia and I received many questions in regards to which hotel I stayed at. Today I'm sharing my review of the Las America’s Hotel Review Cartagena Colombia

Room

The high ceiling throughout my room was breathtaking. Everything had a luxurious feel to it. I love all of the branded items that this hotel had. My room was clean and was stocked with a mini bar. The rain shower made my showers so relaxing after a busy day in Cartagena.

Lobby

The lobby is in this hotel was absolutely stunning. From the decor to the water features. This hotel actually has two lobby areas. One of the Original hotel and the second is attached to the original hotel however, it’s newer.

Pool

I believe this hotel has about 10 pools. Yes, you read right. This was my first time staying at a hotel that had so many pools. Did I mention that one of the pools included a slide and there were a few that were infinity pools? I love that this hotel also had a bar area which included a bar as well and plenty of seating. The adult pool was on the rooftop and I spent a lot of time there. It was so refreshing to just sit and relax. I love that I had the option to sit in an additional seating area if I didn’t want to be near the pool.

Amenities

One of the reasons that I selected this hotel was because Michael and I were on our annual spring break trip. I wanted to stay somewhere that if I didn’t want to leave the hotel I didn’t have to. This hotel had plenty of restaurants and they also offered an all-inclusive option which I thought was awesome. They had bikes on site, mini golf, and playground.

Security

I don’t believe I’ve ever felt so secure at a hotel. If you’re not a guest at the hotel. You’re not permitted in which I loved, the guards thoroughly did their job and a guard was always at each entrance.

While visiting New York. I had the most amazing experience of staying at the James Hotel in Tribeca. I have to admit that I wasn’t familiar with the James Hotel and how they have various locations across the United States.

Staff
Everyone that I encountered at this hotel was super sweet. From the front desk representative to the valet. Everyone was super sweet and accommodating.

Location
I love how this hotel centrally located and is pretty much within walking distance to some pretty amazing sites to what New York has to offer. From spinning classes to delicious restaurants. It’s also just a Taxi or train ride away to Time Square.

Room
The rooms at the hotel were gorgeous. Tall ceilings, comfortable. Rainfall showerhead. I loved every inch of this room. It was so chic with a boutique vibe. For this room to be in New York it had plenty of space. I love that this room also included a seating area and a super sexy glass shower which overlooked the bedroom which I loved.

Amenities
Valet: The James hotel offered onsite valet parking which was one of the reasons why I wanted to stay at this hotel. I was able to park my vehicle at the same place in which I was staying and didn’t have to worry about going to multiple locations at the end of my trip.
Pool: This hotel has a pool, however, is only opened seasonally.
Breakfast + Wine and Cheese Happy Hour. I love that the James Hotel provides a light breakfast in the morning. Coffee/teas and danishes and a cheese and wine happy hour for guest in the evening. I wasn’t able to attend the evening happy hour. However, the morning breakfast spread looked delicious.
Gym: This hotel also offered an onsite gym to the guest. The gym area looked super clean and was equipped with great workout machines.

Overall

If I could stay at the James Hotel every time I visited New York. I would! The views from my room were stunning. The decor of this hotel was simply fabulous.

I just returned from my vacation from Fort Lauderdale Florida. You've been following me a while on the blog or social media. You know that Florida has a special place in my heart and is one of the states that I would love to relocate to. Last year I visited Orlando Florida however, I've never seemed to make my way to Fort Lauderdale. I've always heard so many wonderful things about Fort Lauderdale. But have never been able to see Fort Lauderdale for myself. When it comes to selecting a hotel, there are so many great options. But, I wanted more than just great. I wanted the best. The feel of luxury with the style and ambiance of a boutique hotel. I am beyond ecstatic with my hotel selection. The Atlantic Hotel & Spa is steps from the beach and within walking distance to the best shops and restaurants that Fort Lauderdale has to offer.

The Lobby & Staff

I love the decor that the Atlantic Hotel & Spa has in the lobby area. It really has that luxury feel, but the comfort of feeling like you're at home. My checking in process was seamless, There wasn't a long line, actually, no line and the staff was super friendly. The lobby area was spotless, I love that they offer water in the lobby area for guest and a daily complimentary welcome beverage (wine, beer or juice). It was so refreshing to have this option after a long day of travels.

The Room

If I could give The Atlantic Hotel & Spa hotel room six stars I would. My room was cleaned and restocked twice a day. My bed was super comfortable. How quiet the room was, really felt as if I was in my own private villa. The views from my room of the pool area and beach were just stunning. Each morning I would watch the breathtaking views of the sunrise from my balcony while enjoying breakfast. I love that the room as fully stocked with dishes and even pots and pans. You really have everything that you need right in your room. I also, love that my room had a separate shower and tub. It was nice to have the option of a tub to relax and unwind my day in. I would also like to mention that the shower had the best shower pressure, I've ever experienced at a hotel. This is very important for me, I'm all for a comfortable bed, ocean views, cleanliness, and amazing shower pressure. Their nothing worse than a long day of traveling and taking a relaxing shower after checking in to only realize that the shower pressure is not up to par. I was really impressed!

The Spa

The spa area had one of the most breathtaking views of the pool and Atlantic ocean. I love that The Atlantic Hotel & Spa offers the use of the spa area to guests. The Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. It was so relaxing to start my days at the spa. The staff at the Spa were super friendly and helpful. It was such a relaxing experience.

The Gym

I love that The Atlantic Hotel and Spa had a fully equipped gym. The gym had gorgeous views while you exercise and everything that you might need for an amazing workout. What better way to start each day at the gym, and then head to the spa area after a great workout?!

The Pool Area

The pool area is simply stunning. Very relaxing and plenty of seating around the pool and the deck area. They also have a pool bar which is so convenient. I never had any issues with finding a spot to relax and enjoy the view at. At night, it was so nice to enjoy the sounds of the ocean while relaxing on the deck area while sitting right in front of the fire pit. The pool area is also the perfect place to have a celebration at. While I was sitting and relaxing I was trying to figure out which next event I could possibly host there. It's simply gorgeous, day and night!

The Experience

Have you ever dreamed up waking up and opening your eyes and seeing the sunrise right from your bed or balcony while enjoying a fresh cup, coffee, juice or tea?! To be just steps from the beach while the warm breeze gently blows your hair. The views of a magical moment. Not just seeing a picture, or watching a video. But to see it in person while taking in the fresh air from the Atlantic Ocean while watching the sun rise over the horizon. This was the experiences I felt while staying at The Atlantic Hotel & Spa.
