My DIY Grownup Mason Jar Peggy Bank

A couple of weeks ago I read this article on Saving your coins to increase your savings habit. The article stated that if you used the changed from your purchases to save instead of using it as "spare change" you could learn to create a savings habit.

example:

Spend $1.12 at the Dollar Tree and I only had $2.00 on you. You would save the remainder of the change, instead of using it the next day on another purchase. (I can't remember if the article stated after every purchase to save the change. )

My Way:
What I'm going to do is at the end of each day, I'm going to put my leftover change in my super cute mason jar. (read a similar article in the February issue of Ebony Magazine. )

How Did I Create the mason jar?

If you follow me on SnapChat (SimplyTasheena) I spilled the deets.

1. I used a old mason jar I purchased from a Garage Sale
2. The pink ribbon is from the handles of a old Victoria Secret Bag
3. The glitter tape was $1.00 at the dollar spot at Target.

This jar is far from perfect but it gets the job done!

Do you have any savings tips?
