Organizing your closet is a daunting task. To make it easier, we can break the project into three phases: clothes, shoes, and everything else.

Phase 1: Clothes

Most people will have a lot of clothes, and sorting them into piles is the best way to get started. Throw out anything with stains

2. Sort by type - Tops, bottoms, dresses, jeans, etc.

3. Sort by season - spring/summer/fall/ - Sort your clothes by type (pants, shirts, dresses) and color. - Place like items together in stacks on the floor or bed. - Put all of the clothes you don’t wear in one pile and store them elsewhere. - Sort by season to make sure you don’t forget about anything that needs to be put away for next year or stored for later use.

Phase 2: Shoes - Store all of your shoes together in one area of your closet with like items on top of each other. This will also help you find your shoes much faster.- Place all of your shoes on the floor or bed with your feet up against a wall to make them easier to see.- Sort by type and color so that you can identify the ones you like better and don’t like so much, as well as what to wear with what.

Phase 3: Everything Else - Sort everything else by category.

For example Jewelry, scarves, belts, purses, hats/caps.- Place all of your accessories together in one area with like items on top of each other so it’s easier to find the item you are looking for.- Sort by category again so that you can identify specific items.
