5 Gear Alternatives to Camping: How to Enjoy the Great Outdoors with Less
Why Isn't Camping as Popular as it Used to Be?
There are many reasons why camping is not as popular as it used to be. The main reason is that people are no longer interested in roughing it with tents, sleeping bags, and cooking over a campfire. Another reason is that people are too busy to go camping because they work long hours, commute long distances, and have demanding family lives.

We have lived our lives in the city and for the past 4 years, we have not done any camping or hiking. We have been planning on a trip to a nearby camp resort where we can rent a small log cabin. (Yay! No need for tents and sleeping bags). I think this is what is now called "glamping?" I am not sure, but what I am sure of is, we definitely need to get out of the city even for just a short while and enjoy the beautiful outdoors. I am going to remember your tips of what to bring. A first aid kid is always a must.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great post! I love hiking :)
ReplyDeleteI love going camping. I plan on taking my daughters out camping this summer. They have not really gone camping before, and I loved it when I was growing up, and I think they will too.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a really amazing post! My family are planning to go on camping this weekend! This is perfect!
ReplyDeleteWe used to go camping every summer when our kids were younger, it was a great way to take an affordable vacation. Now that the kids are grown and I'm much older, I really don't want to rough it anymore. I like the alternatives you suggested especially hiking.
ReplyDeleteIt is nice to plan minimal packing for trips including camping. I feel like every time we went camping, we would bring an entire car load stuffed with things and it took forever to unpack and repack.
ReplyDeleteI used to go with my family camping when growing up. It is something that I would love to do but my back would hate me the next morning.
