Aggressive dogs, or those that won't stop barking, can be a huge headache and even worse, a serious threat to other people and animals. As a dog owner (or someone living in an area with many dogs) you could be at risk for coming face-to-face with an annoyed or stressed-out dog.

Thankfully, there are ways to help your dog stay calm and even prevent aggression. We've compiled some helpful tips and tricks on how to train a puppy to behave better than ever before.

The Five Most Effective Ways To Train A Puppy

Puppies are a lot of work. They need to be trained and socialized. But, it's worth it in the end because they become such loving companions.

The most effective way to train a puppy is through positive reinforcement. This means you reward good behavior with treats and praise, and you punish bad behavior by using time-outs or other disciplinary techniques.

Positive reinforcement works because dogs want to please their owners and will do what they can to avoid punishment or earn praise.

Another effective way is through repetition and consistency. If you're consistent with rewards and punishments, your pup will learn what behaviors are desired and which ones aren't tolerated well in your household.

Puppies also learn from observation so be sure that everyone in your family is on the same page.
