July 2020 Vegetable Garden Update
I can't believe it's already August! I wanted to share a quick update on my vegetable garden this year. Most of my collard greens had holes on them and also had Aphids. I'm hoping that they will reseed therefore I can try to regrow them at a different time. This has been a learning experience for me. Because I never grew greens before. My kale on the other hand has been doing well. I still do not have any planted. However, I'm hoping to plant the two plants I have in containers into raised beds. Kale regrows, this will allow it to regrow for next year.
I'm so happy that I was able to harvest some tomatoes! From the tomato plants that were donated to me. I'm not sure what variety of tomatoes that I'm growing. However, it's really exciting, and I can't wait to enjoy them! My pepper plants in which I started from seeds are struggling. I will, of course, keep you abreast. This year's gardening has been really exciting for me! I've grown veggies that I've never grown before and I started plants from seeds. I can't wait to share my process with those plants...
How was July for you?

Those tomatoes look awesome. My favorite food is tomato and the fresh ones are always the best. I am so jealous of your beautiful garden and veggies.
ReplyDeleteDang, you're doing awesome! Definitely giving me inspiration to try this next year.
ReplyDeleteNice! You are doing so well. I would love to be able to grow tomatoes.
ReplyDeleteYour garden is doing so well. We planted a small garden this year but it has been overflowing with tomatoes!
ReplyDeleteHow amazing is your garden! I am loving the updates and how exciting that you are able to start harvesting some things.
ReplyDeleteWow! your tomatoes look amazing, way better than mine which haven't even flowered yet. I've got cucumbers coming out of my ears though and some OK looking courgettes. We've just come on holiday so about to miss the chillies and sunflowers being ready. Pop over here to see my veggie garden: https://smellysocksandgardenpeas.wordpress.com/2020/07/24/veggie-progress/
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful progress! I wish I could say the same for my own garden, but most of them died. I'm not that great at remembering to feed the plants in the height of the summer.
ReplyDeleteThe heat did a number on our garden. We did get a few of the things I planted, though, enough to break even!
ReplyDeleteI love gardening and plating edibles I am sure you are having so much fun. It is rewarding to see your hard work growing and giving back.
ReplyDeleteWhen I finally get my house I too want to have a garden and grow tomatoes and more.
ReplyDeleteLove your garden updates! You have inspired me to start a garden next year.
ReplyDeleteThat's a drag about the aphids. We had some too, but not many. Have you tried making fried green tomatoes?
