My New Year Bedtime Routine

I am constantly on the hunt for easy ways I can incorporate better choices into my diet and lifestyle. What better way to do so than with incorporating a nightly routine. I’ve found that over the years, my nightly routine is something that I look forward to after a busy day. It’s pretty much my reward for the day, after checking things off of my to-do list, and just getting things done by “adulting.” Plus, it’s the perfect way to set the tone for the next day and creates daily habits. Below, I’m sharing my nighttime routine.

Prepare
I’m huge on trying to prepare for the next day. I love knowing what I’m going to have for breakfast, lunch, and dinner the next day.  I also like having my clothes for the next day planned. It makes for such an easier way to start my day. Because, I know that all of my essentials are already taken care of, and it’s one less thing I have to worry about.

Accomplishments
Each night I like to take a moment to reflect on my accomplishments. Whether I’m patting myself on the back for tackling my “to-do list” or simply happy about reaching my fitness goals for the day. No matter how big or small they are. Take a moment to reflect.

Brain Dump
Every night I like to review my planner to see what upcoming events that I have coming up. I also like to see what I have to plan for. This is the perfect opportunity for me to create a “to-do list” for the next day and to simply brain dump.

Journaling
Journaling is simply just one of my favorites. I’ve done it for years, and it is such a great way for me to reflect on my day and clear my mind. I typically spend half an hour to an hour journaling. It’s quite frankly one of my favorite pastimes.

Stretch
There are so many amazing benefits to doing yoga and stretching prior to bed.  It’s such a great way to relax your mind.

Nighttime Juice Shot
I recently started incorporating juice shots after my workouts and concluding my nighttime routines with them as well. I enjoy a simple shot of R.W. Knudsen Juice, my favorite is their R.W. Knudsen Just Tart Cherry® Juice, it’s 100% natural ingredients, and has Non-GMO, No artificial flavors or preservatives, No added sugar, and is Certified USDA organic. It’s honestly one of my favorite additions to my nighttime routine, and I’ve found it at all of my favorite retailers.

What’s your nightly routine like?

I've heard that cherry juice is a great anti-inflammatory. I need to pick some up and give it a try. Cherries are one of my favorite fruits too.
