Romantic Getaway: Sonesta Gwinnett Place Atlanta

by - 7/10/2019 12:00:00 AM

The Mister and I were in need of a couples' getaway. We visited family in Florida and wanted to stop in Georgia for the first time. When looking for a hotel. Especially, when driving, I never want to compromise style for convenience. I'm so happy that we stayed at the Sonesta Gwinnett Place Atlanta. This hotel has everything you need to feel as if you're at a resort. The location was perfect and the staff was phenomenal.

Our Room

Our hotel room was decorated in a modern style which I loved. Our bed was super comfortable. We also had stunning views overseeing the area. We also had so much natural light coming in which is a major plus for me.

Dining Experience

As much as I wanted to say in our super comfortable bed, sleep in and order room service. I also wanted to spend some time exploring Georgia as well. For breakfast, we dined at the Grapevine restaurant on site.  They have a wide selection of breakfast/lunch options at this restaurant. They also offer a buffet option with a waffle and omelet station. Of course, they offer a typical menu option as well with a wide selection. I loved our meal here. It was such a great way to really kickstart our day. Plus, we had the best waiter, service, and our food was delicious.

For dinner, we had a four-course meal at the ArtBar which consisted of items from their new menu.

What we ordered:
Appetizer: Cantaloupe Bruschetta
Salad: Green Apple Salad
Entree: Grilled Vegetable Napoleon (hers) Chicken Oscar (his)
Dessert: Bumbu Rum Creme Brulee

If the ArtBar was located in Connecticut we would eat there at least once a week. We had the most amazing waitress. Everything was made to perfection. The Mister is really picky about how his chicken is prepared and he raved about his entree. I loved my dish as well. The flavor combination of the Grilled Vegetable Napoleon was out of this world. It was also both of our first time trying a Creme Brulee, and I'm officially hooked! If you looking to try something. Order what we ordered, and you'll surely be pleased.

Sonesta Gwinnett Place Atlanta Fun

Sonesta Gwinnett Place Atlanta has an indoor and outdoor pool which I was really impressed with. The ArtBar also has a pool table which the Mister and I loved. It really came in handy, and I loved that we didn't have to leave out of the hotel to have fun. They also have a ton of seating areas on grounds. We loved going for our nightly walks while enjoying the cool Georgia summer breeze. So much greenery and beautiful views to really take in the moment.

The Hotel

Sonesta Gwinnett Place Atlanta is at the perfect location. It's literally minutes from the highway and really offered us everything that we were looking for. The Sonesta Gwinnett Place Atlanta offered us the perfect getaway experience. It was so nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It was such a relaxing experience and was just what we needed.
