What is the Ian Somerhalder Foundation?
In the Spring of 2011 the artist Kiji McCafferty renovated an urban space into a
Reverse Galley. Getting
the vision from nature, McCafferty, aka “Mr. Kiji,”
used Green Works cleaners as the medium to create murals in a boring underpass
in Silver Lake, with the hope that the surprising art exhibit illustrates that
cleaning can be stunning and motivate viewers to do their share.
About the Green Works® Reverse Graffiti Gallery:The Green Works Reverse Graffiti Galleryis based on the idea that cleaning can be beautiful, especially when done naturally. The project has transformed an urban space in Los Angeles into a dynamic reminder that small, every day green choices can make a big impact.
Drawing inspiration from nature, artist Kiji McCafferty, aka “Mr. Kiji,” used Green Works cleaners as the medium to create murals in a mundane underpass in Silver Lake, with the hope that the unexpected art exhibit illustrates that cleaning can be beautiful and inspires viewers to do their part.
Ian Somerhalder, star of “The Vampire Diaries,” is working in tandem with the artist to help raise awareness for the gallery. Simply by watching the time-lapse video of the transformation at Facebook.com/GreenWorks , $1 will be donated to the Ian Somerhalder Foundation. The organization raises funds for environmental conservation projects and educates and empowers people – particularly youth – to positively impact the planet.
