Banana Pudding

Over the weekend, I decided to make banana pudding. It really feels like I have not made this desert in almost a year or very close to it. However, I purchased everything over the course of a month (bananas do not stay in our house long) and finally had the chance to make it on Sunday. Growing up, my mother would always make the banana pudding that you would have to be placed in the oven with the peaked egg whites. Well, me being me, I was on the quest to find an amazing recipe that would not have to go in the oven and to my surprise a couple of years ago. I stumbled upon this recipe and modified it to my liking. This is another big hit in my home. My mother-in law mentioned to me several times this week how delicious the pudding was. I actually did something a little different this time around. I actually did individual cups. Which was a smart idea on my part, I did not have to try and decide how much someone was getting. They were all the same portion. I also noticed that it can get a little messy in a trifle dish if it is left two or three days in a refrigerator. I really love the elegant look of placing this desert in an over sized wine glass. I also, placed several portions in plastic cups. With summer right around the corner, this is the perfect desert to end your event with.

Ingredients
1 (8 ounce) container frozen Cool Whip, thawed (You can purchase two, if you would like a thick layer for the top.
 1 box of vanilla wafers
 14 bananas, sliced
1 (5 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
 2 cups cold milk
1 can of sweetened condensed milk

 Directions

1.   In a large mixing bowl, Prepare the pudding as directed on the box.

2.   Blend in condensed milk until smooth (into the pudding mixture).

3.    Fold in half Cool Whip.

4.   Layer wafers, bananas and pudding mixture (repeat three times)

5.   Add the rest of the Cool Whip to the last layer.

6.   Garnish with broken vanilla wafers.

7.   I prefer to refrigerate overnight.
