Last week on a whim. The Mister and I decided to goto the Rose Garden to have a dinner. This is my favorite free park to visit in my state/area. I love when all of the roses are in full bloom. Plus it makes for one of the most romanic dinners being surrounded by roses. I love having affordable date nights. Plus, it's nice to be in such a beautiful location.

Anywho, enjoy the view.

On a whim, the Mister and I decided to go to the Rose Garden to have dinner. We packed our picnic basket with fresh Strawberries, our favorite bottle of champaign, and some Moes Burritos. I know, nothing fancy about the burritos. The weather was perfect for a summer dress. Especially one with a print pattern. I paired the dress with one of my favorite blazers and some silver Sam & Libby shoes.

If you're anything like me you love going to the beach during the summer months. To be honest, I love going to the beach as long as it's not freezing and snow is not on the ground ( New Englanders Issues) I thought it would be cool to share my beach must haves.

Sun Hat

A sun hat is a must have for going to the beach. I typically like to have on hand a white, Black and Tan one. 

Good Read

I prefer not to get in the water. But love the views. While I'm at the beach I enjoy a good read. This is one of my personal favorites here and here. 

Snack 

If we're grilling while at the beach or just going to go. I always bring with me cereal bars and fruit. I always also make sure that I have a beverage on hand to quench my thirst. 

Water Shoes 

These are a life saver when going to the beach and pools. This is a true investment. My entire family owns a pair.  I typically purchase a new pair every year.  My flip flops usually fall off at some point which gets pretty annoying. So I just stick with my water shoes.

When I first transitioned from relaxed hair to natural hair in 2010. I watched every YouTube video and soon became a product junkie. I think pretty much all natural hair women can relate that at some point in their journey it was the same way for them.

For some reason, I had a very hard time finding products that would lay my edges down and not leave any flakes or residue behind. 

Hence, the reason a lot of the time I would not even put any product on my edges because it was a waste of time...

I attended a natural hair event on a whim and as we were sharing various aspects of having natural hair. The host mentioned Karen's Body Beautiful Edge Control. It just so happened that she was raffling off some of the products and I won the edge control. 

Let's just say that this product is everything, when I say everything I mean everything. No matter what product I already have in my hair this edge control does not leave any residue or flakes on my hair. It lays my edges all the way down. 

What I love most about this product is that it like you never even added anything to your hair (no residue). Trust me, it's like magic. 

My natural hair siestas know what I mean. Some products I would have to wash out the same day. Not this product. Trust me. It's truly a best-kept secret and a most have.

If you follow me on Snapchat, I'm typically at my local Dollar Tree way too often. During my last visit. I was able to pickup some great finds. I love finding items that you typically will not find at the Dollar Tree. I found some great ones during this shopping trip :).
