This year’s NYFW was an unforgettable experience, and one of the true highlights for me was attending the Essence House of Fashion 2024. As a proud African American influencer, being a part of an event that celebrated Black designers, models, and creatives at such a high-profile fashion week felt truly empowering. From start to finish, the evening radiated with the energy, creativity, and unapologetic confidence that has always defined Black fashion.

The Essence of Black Creativity

Essence House of Fashion wasn’t just a show—it was a movement. The collections were bold, daring, and unapologetic, showcasing everything from avant-garde designs to streetwear chic. Designers fearlessly brought their visions to life, creating garments that were not just aesthetically stunning but also deeply rooted in culture and history. It was powerful to see the unique narratives woven into every stitch and fabric.

Runway Moments that Left Me Speechless

One of the standout moments for me was the diverse representation on the runway. Black beauty in all shades, shapes, and sizes walked with grace and confidence. These models embodied the essence of the collections while sending a clear message: Black fashion isn’t just a trend—it’s the foundation upon which so much of the industry is built.

Community and Celebration

What truly set this event apart was the sense of community. The room was filled with love, respect, and admiration. I connected with so many inspiring people, from fellow influencers to the designers themselves, all of whom are pushing boundaries and rewriting the fashion narrative.
