How to Stay Calm and Enjoy the Holidays!
Why is the holiday season so stressful for all of us?
The holiday season is usually a time to be with family and friends, but for many people, it is also a time of increased stress. In the United States alone, more than half the population reports feeling stressed during the holidays. The reasons for this are varied and include spending too much money on gifts or hosting too many guests, as well as being away from work or school and having to face family members who may not be getting along. This stress can also lead to anxiety or depression. It can be hard to know what you should do if someone in your life is struggling with mental illness during this time of year. But there are things that you can do to help them get through it without feeling overwhelmed. One way to help your friends or family members struggling with stress is to remind them of things they have in common. For example, remind them of the time you went skiing together when you weren't feeling well or how much fun it was celebrating your birthday at the amusement park instead of going to work that day.
