September 2020 Garden Update

by - 10/07/2020 12:00:00 AM

This year gardening has truly been a learning curve for me. As earlier stated, pre-pandemic I had no plans on starting a garden this year. I had my summer planned out which included not being home. This was my biggest reason for not wanting to start a garden. In 2019, I learned first hand what happens when you do not properly nourish a garden. I’m happy that I did get an opportunity to have a garden this year. It was such an amazing learning experience. I joined some pretty amazing communities on Facebook and Instagram. My tomato plants really thrived this year. I even started some tomato plants from seed and I actually harvested my very 1st homegrown tomatoes from those plants.

It really has been such an overall great experience. I still have so much to learn. But I’m truly thankful for the opportunity of being present in my garden.

  2. I am so jealous of your garden update! I have yet to take a photo of how my cukes turned out this year. It was my first year attempting to plant them and they didn't grow. I'm not sure if it was a crowding problem (me planting them too close together), or a nutrient problem, but we did have an excellent amount of Jalapenos grown.

  6. That's so cool! I think this coming spring I'm gonna have my husband plant a bunch of veggies (he enjoys that kind of thing way more than me LOL)

  7. we harvested the last of the garden last weekend. We got about 100 lbs of food for about $25 investment and several hours of time. We love it, so it is a win for us!
