Chocolate Covered Strawberries

by - 2/08/2012 06:37:00 AM

Can you believe it? Only one week until V-Day!!!! Yesterday in my peanut & raisin clusters post. I was saying how I had left of chocolate because I was making some yummy chocolate treats. Well, chocolate covered strawberries were the item that I was making! This is by far one of my favorite treats! I seriously can eat this treat throughout the year. I wanted to share the recipe below that I found on the Food Network. That gives a break down the steps to making. For people that have never made chocolate covered strawberries or burned the chocolate almost every time. You Can Do IT! Don't give up, no matter how many times I made this treat or watched a video showing the process. I would have a problem with burning the chocolate or the consistency, and a lot of times. I would just opt to making a mean chocolate dipping sauce (oh my). If you follow the directions below, you will have the perfect chocolate covered strawberries! Just in time for V-day :).

  Recipe adapted from via

Ingredients

  • 6 ounces semisweet or dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1 pound strawberries with stems (about 20), washed and dried very well

Directions

Put the semisweet or Dark chocolates into heatproof medium bowls. Fill the saucepans with a couple inches of water and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Turn off the heat; set the bowls of chocolate over the water to melt. Stir until smooth. (Alternatively, melt the chocolate in a microwave at half power, for 1 minute, stir and then heat for another minute or until melted.)
Once the chocolate is melted and smooth, remove from the heat. Line a sheet pan with parchment or waxed paper. Holding the strawberry by the stem, dip the fruit into the dark chocolate, lift and twist slightly, letting any excess chocolate fall back into the bowl. Set strawberries on the parchment paper. Repeat with the rest of the strawberries. Set the strawberries aside until the chocolate sets, about 30 minutes.
