My Mommy Style Monday: Figuring Things Out

by - 4/15/2019 12:00:00 AM

For the last couple of years. I've taken my son on a mommy-son trip. This year,  was our first time in a long time that we didn't do anything for spring break. I honestly was super slow at finalizing our plans which led to nothing happening. Last year I booked our trip literally a week before departure. This year, I was trying to adjust after being gone for almost two weeks that I couldn't decide on where to go. I had a couple of places in mind. I tried to see if the place in which I was hoping to visit the flight price would change around week six. That didn't happen. The flights actually went up and continued to go up. My mindset shifted to a different option and the dates are not working out. Sigh. I guess I feel bad because at the start of last week it was super gloomy. It really would have been nice to explore someplace new. Though we haven't gone anywhere yet. We just have a raincheck at the moment. This also has taught me to work on stop being such a last-minute person when it comes to making travel plans and actually finalizing them.

How far in advance do you book family vacations?

  10. I plan our family vacations usually right after the last one. We took a cruise last year around Christmas and we're doing it again and inviting more family members.

  12. I'm pretty last minute when it comes to planning, but if it involves air travel, I try to do it a month or so in advance-usually as soon as I decide what we're going to do. It is hard now when I try to plan things because my teens always seem to have something they don't want to miss.
