If you follow me on Snapchat I was on the grill pretty much every day last week. I love just sitting on my deck and enjoying the spring breeze. If you read my menu plan from last week which went all out of wack. I had planned on making shish kabobs. I ended up using the last bit of my families fav teriyaki marinade and made grilled teriyaki. I allowed the chicken to marinate for a couple of hours and placed the chicken on the grill on low heat ( which is probably medium heat for most )My family loved how this recipe turned out. I love that it doesn't require a lot of ingredients and time. Plus, you can make this dish on the stovetop as well on a grilling pan.
Ingredients
1 Cup of Teriyaki ( Target Marinade )
1 Small yellow onion ( optional )
1 Bamboo Skewers ( optional )
1 Pack of chicken tenders (or chicken breast- cut to your desired size )
salt and pepper to taste
Directions
- In a glass, plastic dish or heavy-duty resealable food-storage plastic bag, mix 1 cup of Teriyaki Marinade and onions. Add salt and pepper to taste
- Add chicken; turn to coat with marinade. Cover dish or seal bag and refrigerate, turning chicken occasionally, at least 1 hour but no longer than 24 hours.
- Heat grill.
- Remove chicken from marinade; ( at this time you can add the chicken to the skewers, I like to add onions for additional flavor ) reserve the leftover marinade. Cover and grill chicken, medium heat 15 minutes. Turn chicken. Cover and grill 10 to 20 minutes longer, turning and brushing 2 or 3 times with marinade until juice of chicken is no longer pink when centers of thickest pieces are cut. Discard any remaining marinade.

ReplyDeleteThe chicken looks simply amazing. This is a recipe that I am definitely going to have to try out. Although I think I would like to try and make the teriyaki sauce for it myself, rather than going Target brand. I love Target but there just is no substitute for homemade.
