Simply Tasheena

That moment you realize you tried to be "Great" but your DSLR camera would not allow you to, sorry for the blurry pictures. (Okay, rant over) These pictures were captured last Sunday at my son's game.Wow, this young man is going to be a teenager next month. Where does time go?

When I envisioned having a son, I never envisioned spending my weekends at Football and Basketball games (no complaints). Prior to having a son, I never really paid attention to sports. I just didn't, my father is more of a boxing guy. So Sunday night football was really foreign to me.

So let's just say times have changed, and I'm one of those parents that all into the game. Win or lose, it's something about sports that I probably didn't grasp prior to having son, now I'm all in!

It's nice watching his growth as a player and teammate. Yes, I still have the ask the Mister and my son several times what something means. I really think they enjoy teaching the basic. Now I'm Loving Basketball. (and football too)

Anywho, are you have sports fan? Are you a mom to boys.

The weather was absolutely gorgeous this past weekend in Connecticut. We really could not have asked for better weather to be outdoors especially in Connecticut. Unfortunately, UCONN's record with 5:5 and their opponents were undefeated. My little guy was not thrilled at all about seeing this game at first. He explained to me that there was a high chance of this game being a blowout. None the less, I explained to my son that we will still be at the game cheering our team on.

I am so happy that we did decide to attend. The game was so much fun, it wasn't a blowout, and UCONN won! YAY!

So if you follow me on Instagram, you saw my post earlier today about finding an awesome deal on cargo pants... This morning while getting my son ready for school. He asked if he could buy him some army pants. I wasn't sure where I would find them at. I also wasn't sure if that whole wave of camo pants went away (fashion trend) my first thought was going to the thrift store... So my first step at home was doing a google search. I found some items on EBay and Poshmark that weren't his size. Then I randomly started searching my favorite stores for him. I finally went to my favorite store Target, after seeing Gap had a pair online. I was pleasantly surprised the price was a fraction of the price of the pair at Gap. Since I know that their is a very good chance that he would grow out of these pants by next fall, I couldn't see myself spending $34. Yup me just being frugal!!

Tips

1. Always search for coupon codes prior to shopping online or In-store

2. Never assume the price online, is the same price in-store.( Always call to confirm the price)

3. Join your favorite store(s) email mail list ( for exclusive savings)

4. Take advantage of free shipping ( however be mindful of what you're actually saving. For example, If your only spent $20. would it be worth it to spend $80 or more for free shipping? No, just pay the shipping cost.)

5. Shop around for the best shipping price and/or prices. ( You never know, another store may have the item cheaper.)

6. Never assume the item sold online, is sold in-stores. (The Target brand of the pants above is not sold in stores)

Any great deals lately?
