Y’all… I can’t even begin to tell you how emotional I am sitting here writing this post. After years of sharing pieces of my life, my thoughts, and my journey with you since 2011, I’m finally able to share something that feels like the culmination of everything we’ve built together.

This isn’t just my book—this is OUR book. Because so many of you have shared your stories with me over the years. The late-night DMs about relationships that felt off. The comments about men who seemed too good to be true. The women who trusted me with their most vulnerable moments.

Here’s what I need y’all to know about this story:

Tiffany Rodriguez was born from watching too many of my sisters get played by smooth-talking predators who saw our success as a shopping list. She’s every woman in my comments who said “I should have known better” when really, she should have been protected better.

Marcus Thompson is every charming man who’s ever made a successful woman question her own judgment. He’s the compilation of every red flag story y’all have shared with me, every “girl, something ain’t right about him” conversation we’ve had.

Why I HAD to write this story:

- Financial abuse is REAL and it’s happening to women who think they’re too smart to fall for it

- We need to talk about how predators specifically target successful Black women

- Your intuition is not paranoia—it’s protection

- There’s power in sharing our stories so other women can recognize the signs

I spent months researching, interviewing survivors, talking to experts because I needed this to be REAL. Not just entertaining, but educational. Not just a story, but a warning system wrapped in hope.

This journey started with Y’ALL:

Remember when I posted about that weird interaction I had with that man at the networking event? Y’all told me to trust my instincts. Remember when I shared that article about romance scams and half the comments were women saying “this happened to my cousin/sister/friend”?

That’s when I knew this story needed to exist.

What you can expect:

- A heroine who’s smart but human (because love makes ALL of us vulnerable)

- A villain who will make your skin crawl because he feels TOO real

- Plot twists that will have you texting your group chat at midnight

- An ending that sets up Book Two because baby, we’re just getting started!

Writing this book was healing and traumatic at the same time. Some of these scenes came from places in my heart I didn’t know were still tender.
