Happy Friday Everyone!!

How was your Thanksgiving? I have decided to have Christmas Dinner at our house. I am waiting for my invitations to come in the mail any day now :). I will share them with you guys once they arrive. Our Christmas tree went up a day after Thanksgiving, our color scheme consist of silver and white, with black accents. It is actually coming along great, I purchased a bunch of decor last year on sale at Walmart, so I was super excited to actually use them this year. Other than that, this weekend is going to be pretty low key... I would love to dust off our Wii system (for some reason we have not been using it a lot lately) and play a couple of games with my son... I also have been really bad with creating a menu plan. However, I have been able to create a ~~decent~~ meal everyday this week... Now since I have a sewing table, I really need to get back in the swing of sewing stuff, and of course it is football and basketball season, so I will be tuned in between the games this weekend. Anywho, how about you...

Hello everyone!

I'm thinking about sending out an annual family newsletter around Christmas time or before the New Years. With so many social media sites I'm not sure if the idea is even pointless? I know not everyone is looking at all of my status updates or pictures I post. I think it is a great idea to capture the entire year in a newsletter with a couple of pictures, updates on the kiddos etc. I am so unsure if this is going to happen this year, or if I should just start gathering information for future reference… I would love your input!

We are pretty much now in full holiday shopping swing. I wanted to share with you guys a couple of holiday shopping tips to make your shopping experience less stressful.

Create a shopping list: Create a shopping list with the items you have in mind that you would like to purchase for each person (include their name next to the item). Send the list to yourself via email, as well as having the list saved on your phone. I would also suggest printing out the list and having it handy in your purse, wallet or car.

Start ASAP: I know there are some people that are already done shopping, and one of their secrets is probably starting as soon as possible. I would suggest creating a bin that will house holiday/birthday gifts; this bin is going to come in handy trust me. Keep it stocked with books, toys, coloring sets, perfume sets, and little odds and ends. This bin is going to save you time and money. I’m sure you had those times when you were at the store and you said "that would make a great gift” Well now you have a bin for these items. Put the items aside in your bin, it may come in handy for a secret Santa gift or a last minute gift idea.

Shipping?: Before going to a million stores to find one or multiple items, check to see if the item is available online. You may possibly score free shipping as well. You could possibly find the item online cheaper than in the store. Think about how much gas you would save!!

Do it yourself: Now it is time to put all of those items you pinned on pinterest items to work. You know what I meanJ. Christmas is the best time to make a more personalized gifts for family and friends.

Support small business: there are so many great small businesses out there, which are offering adorable one of a kind gift at an affordable prices. Do a little research and be creative. Do not forget to ask your social media buddies of stores they would recommend.

Hello:

This week I decided to pick out another oldie but goody. This is more like a pearl brown color. I have no idea who the maker of this polish is or the acutal name. I had this polish in my stash for a while now, and it does not have any label on it. I believe it is from one of those cheap nail polish holiday sets. It took three coats of nail polish to accomplish this look. I actually really like this nail polish and plan on applying it again. Like last week, I will be participating in Just another MANICure Monday hosted by LA Lynns Shoppe and Lip Gloss and Binky. Stop by and join me!

What a wonderful weekend!!! I had a wonderful time with family and friends. I also had a wonderful time doing some Black Friday shopping! Now with black Friday on Monday will it be a YAY or a NAY. Hello Everyone!

I am super excited right now. I finally found a sewing table!!!! I went thrifting this morning on a whim, and boy did I get some great stuff. I was going to do a vlog with a clothing haul; however, I have already started the process of getting the items cleaned (may still do it). I found so many vintage pieces which really put a smile on my face, and even a vase and picnic basket…okay, now back to me going to the thrift store; while I was leaving I noticed a table. I went to bring my items to the car and went back inside the store. I inquired about the table and the sales person told me that the table would be $19.99 with 50% off. I thought that still would be a good price. However, it still had the sewing machine attached to it (and come to find out, it was actually already sold) I went to the back where the furniture was and noticed another sewing table. I immediately snatched the price tag off and headed to the checkout line. The table was only $7.99; it was not 50% which was fine with me the price was great. I am still deciding if I am going to paint the table or not. I will keep you guys updated :).

Happy Friday Everyone!!

WOW, can you believe that we only have two more weeks left in November? I know this month is going by too fast...For some reason, It is something about Friday's that puts a smile on my face. This weekend I have a potluck with my girls group. My nephew is also turning three on Sunday, so I will be running around assisting my sister with his B-Day party. I am also on the fence about having Christmas dinner at our home. (I will discuss in a later post why I am on the fence about having Christmas dinner at our home.) I would also love to try and squeeze in a date night for the Mr and I (I canceled last weekend), and I really need to make a cheesecake for my MIL. I made one for my grandmother a couple of weeks ago, and I had raved reviews...Of course it is football and basketball season, so I will be tuned in between the festivities... I also really, really really, need to take some time and create a menu plan. This week I was horrible with preparing dinner. Any who, enough about me...

WOW, I really cannot believe that it is a week from Thanksgiving. The last couple of months have really flown by for me. Last year, I shared what was Thankful for, and I wanted to do the same thing this year.

I am truly thankful for all of the encouraging words in which I receive from my friends and family, and also from the blogger community. (It is truly motivation for me, and I do not take it for granted.) I am Thankful for my wonderful son, who is so kind hearted, and truly put a smile on my face every single day. I am thankful for the little things in life that most days I take for granted, like being able to call my parents, kiss my husband and cook for my family and friends. I am thankful for all of the support that I have received and will receive for my nonprofit… I truly have so much that I am thankful for!

Hello!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day so far. Not only is Thanksgiving next week, but I now it is officially 24 days until my nonprofit silent auction. I am truly grateful for all of the donations that we have recied thus far. I still have so many things to put in place. I have no idea what is going to be served at the event. The good thing is the event is going to take place during the day so heavy foods are not really required, plus it is specified that light appetizers is going to be served during the event…

One thing in which I would have liked to have done differently is send out paper invitations by mail, I only sent correspondents via email. I still could send out invitations, however, I kind of feel as if it is too late... (Yeah, I know this post is actually starting to turn into a rant!)

On another note, I really commend the moms who are on the PTO, your truly make a difference, if no one has told you Thank You!

Besides sewing, baking and fashion (yes, we'll talk about fashion on another post) I have a true love for nail polish. I really love trying on different colors and even attempting to do designs. Like most girls, it all started before I even can remember. I have always had a collection of nail polishes... Well, this week on a whim, I decided to participate with Just another MANICure Monday hosted by LA Lynns Shoppe and Lip Gloss and Binky.
